Women’s Circles

Small group therapy For women

Dear Sister,

you weren’t meant to do this alone.

They say it takes a village to raise kids, but with our modern day privilege of ‘having it all’, many of us are experiencing more responsibility, with less support.

As a psychotherapist, I hope to recreate the village through Women’s Circles - a safe space for deep and honest sharing, nourished by the wisdom and compassion of sisterhood.

Through these online group coaching programmes and support groups for mothers, I hope to offer you a safe and sacred space to reconnect with yourself, to freely express your deepest thoughts and feelings, to be loved and empowered by your fellow sisters, and to be reminded of your innate wisdom and power. Whether you’re expecting or a mother of three, I hope you know that you are not alone, and that you always have a choice.

The Format

each week’s Women’s circle will have a similar flow:

  • Open Circle with a Blessing

  • Guided Visualisation to help us relax, drop out of our busy mind and into our body and heart

  • Sharing each week we have a specific topic, such as identity shift, mum guilt, managing relationships. We share what is present for you in your life and what sense are you making of it

  • Wisdom Sharing & Reflection - we witness each other share what comes up for us - without giving advice

  • Check-out - allow everyone a chance to hear how wisdom has been exchanged and insights have been garnered

  • Close Circle with a Blessing

Dear Janice,

“Of all the people I’ve encountered, YoU’re the one who changed my mindset to love myself more, to fight for my rights and happiness, and to become a strong person, a strong woman.”

Q&A

  • At the start of our journey together, we create a set of Agreements that we work with. Typically they will be something like this:

    • What is said within the circle must be kept confidential

    • We listen to understand and speak to be understood

    • We share the space equally and take turns to speak without interruption

    • We allow and invite silence for deeper reflection

    • We withhold judgment and we respect our individual differences

    • We offer personal experience rather than advice

    • We take personal responsibility and ask for what we need

    • We agree to mutually share in the co-creation of the Circle

    • We agree to be on time each week

  • Up to 10 participants. Any larger and the group can feel a bit too big for the way the Circle runs.

  • Absolutely, you may form your own private circle with at least 3 participants in the group. In person circles can also be arranged for private groups, with additional venue rental fees to be shared among participants. Please reach out to me to arrange for it.

  • Ideally all participants attend the online sessions for the full 5 weeks. Showing up for ourselves and for each other is an important part of building trust and commitment within the Circle.

  • No. You have choice at every step of the way with Circle. We are about empowerment, not forced exposure.
